“Why bother with church membership?”
I’ve been asked the question before. Sometimes it’s said with genuine curiosity-“So explain to me what membership is all about.” Other times it’s said with a tinge of suspicion-“So tell me again, why do you think I should become a member?”-as if joining the church automatically signed you up to tithe by direct deposit.

Jesus told us that when He left that the Comforter (Holy Spirit) would come. This happened at Pentecost. When an individual accepts Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit takes up residence in that individual. We say that the Holy Spirit ‘indwells’ the believer.
Here are several things that the Holy Spirit does in the life of the believer. As you consider them, I believe that you will understand why the Holy Spirit is so important to us as believers.
